Obama! Do not bail out the car companies!
I am not happy about this series of bail outs that is sweeping the nation (and the world). We have broken systems all over the place, and patching them with temporary fixes is the lazy way to answer bigger problems.
BRIBES
We are seriously being bribed with economic stimulus packages, while the government gives away thousands and thousands of dollars of our future money: even before the car company bail outs each taxpayer will have to pay $3,825.14 to afford the first 700 billion dollar bail out. While, we are supposed to be giddy about a $600 check?
Quick Fix
The other big problem with both the bail outs and the stimulus packages is that they are pathetic quick fix attempts to delay the inevitable depression. At some point everything will come crashing down, and I strongly propose being honest with Americans and telling us how we can help. I am going to propose a few solutions in a minute.
New Chance
The most amazing thing about this failing economy is that it opens the door to new opportunities; unfortunately it does not look as though Obama is going to take advantage of this. With failing businesses, and banks; it provides the space and manpower to refocus the countries' efforts in new and exciting directions. Obama has proposed to give 'five million green collar jobs' to americans in the field of renewable energy (according to his new energy website). With the struggling automobile industry, this is our chance! We can make the switch, save jobs, and lead the world into a self sustainable future. I think Obama needs to let the car companies fail, and take the newly jobless workers and implement them in good renewable energy jobs. The car industry may be an outdated business, we need to find better more efficient solutions to travel and commuting to work. Electric cars, solar cars, bikes, segways, and other new inventions need to begin to take form. The failing car industry may be one of the best chances for American to take some giant innovative steps forward.
A Leaky Roof
You can put a bucket under a leaky roof for years and keep your carpet dry, but the fact exists that there is still a hole in the roof. If we do not make bold moves as a nation to stop the problem where it begins, then we will soon be no better than a third world country.
My solutions for the Obama Administration
1. Explain the huge problem that the American people are in, and ask them for help. Ask them to start gardens, grow their own food, by 'used' materials, and conserve energy. The economy will suffer, but it will keep poverty down and limit panic. Explain that jobs WILL be lost, but that jobs NEED to be lost to move forward.
2. DO NOT BAIL ANYTHING OUT! All economic stimulus packages and bail out money needs to be put into renewable energy research and sustainable living practices. Explain that the steps we take now, with the little money we have left to spend, are crucial in deciding how we survive, or struggle through these hard times.
3. Hire unemployed workers into the renewable energy field. Build a sustainable energy system which supports everyone and challenging all conventional practices to become more efficient.
4. Prosecute the previous administration for the crimes they committed, and display to the world that the Bush Administration was corrupt and that American will not stand for it, and are punishing them for their actions.
5. Keep the hope and inspire creativity and working together to help your fellow man

Why Obama has captured my hope!
I feel damn proud to be an american today. For the last eight years, I have been feeling worse and worse about my country and the direction it has been going in. I feel like, under the Bush administation, we have become the villians of the Earth. I also blame myself, because I could have done more; done more to protest, to voice my opinion, raise awarness, join activist groups and to help stop the destructive actions of President Bush.
Either way, here we are: facing the worst economy since the Great Depression, funding and fighting in two unjust wars, a unrealistically daunting national debt, and the rest of the world crumbling down around us. Somehow, Barrak Obama seems to say all the right things with all the right words. And last night, I felt an enormous sense of pride when my country went out and voted for Barrack Obama to be our next president of the United State.
I want to mention, this was the first election I have ever been invested in on this level. In fact, I still consider myself someone who really does not like politics. My least favorite class in college was my politics elective. I thought it was pointless and boring. Now, I am starting to see how it matters, and why it matters to get involved. I give a lot of this credit to Bush's failing administation and the emergence of Barrack's hopeful rise to the national stage.
The first few times I heard Obama speak, nearly a year ago, I was blown away by his voice and simplistic reasoning and outlook on the future. I remember thinking that this was the first time I heard someone saying many of the things I was thinking: talk with your enemies, unite the world, invest in renewable energies, and end the war. In the past, most presidential elects seem to talk about things that do not matter to me, or give some unnessesarily convelutted answer to a problem that has a simply answer. Right from the start, Obama had captured my imagination and hope, by simply having his ideals align with my ideals.
The best thing, was that Obama's message and campaign ran a steady course and did not stray from his initial message. I never felt betrayed, or lied to (which is unlike any politician I have heard in years). Obama ran a campaign that was so solid, and fundamentally smart, that there is no question in my mind that he can find a way to run the country in a similarily productiove manner. Obama is a brilliant speaker; no one can doubt that, but if you read his book, watch him on stage, hear personal friends talk about him; you quickly understand that this man is intelligent and actually cares about the world around him. Barrack Obama has been so smart and respectful in this campaign that I cannot imagine a better President. I think he is cutting the mold for a new kind of politician.
You may think I have fallen goo goo eyed politically for Obama, and that anything he does I will defend; and I tell you now I am no mark for Obama. I have always been very critical of anyone in the oval office, and mistakes will no doubt be made. However, I do think it is important to embrace this wave of optimistic energy and give Obama the support and accolades for what he has done so far.
I get goosebumps each time I think that FINALLY we do not have an old white man as president. My eyes are so wide open to possibilities of who can lead this country in the future. I hope that in the next few decades we can see a woman as president, then a latino, and a native american, and the list goes on and on. Having Obama be the first african american president, who literally was the best man suited for the job, gives hope to whole new culture of Americans. Not just the minorities, not just the youth, but to every American citizen and even to every human being around the world. It shows that despite everything that might be between you are your goal, no matter who you are, if you work for it, you can get there (which is a long sentence to say: "yes we can"). Barriers can go down and great things can happen.
Now what? I have to say, that despite all the problems, I am ready to step up to the plate for this administation and help the country. I will listen to Obama and ready hear what he is saying. I want to make the world a better place, and I believe he does too. I think his intelligence will allow him to come up with great solutions to worldwide problems and I want to be involved in restoring the name of America.
I also want to say that John McCain's speech to conceed the election to Obama was the best speech I have heard him make. I really felt a sense of wamth from his character that I had not in any speech prior. I gained a lot of respect for him during that speech, because I think he did a great job in sounding sincere and not bitter, after such a long hard fight. While I have never thought McCain would be a good president, I do think he is probably a good person.
My hope is restored temporarily, and despite the huge climate of crisis in the world is in, I am proud to be an American and ready to help make the world a better place.

the rich & powerful are going underground
the rich & powerful are going underground
a short essay by william hessian
In this short, opinion essay, I simply want to express why I think the people on top (the richest 1% of the world) plan to burrow under the surface in the upcoming decade. First, I would like to explain that I feel the people on top are the top world politicians and heads of large corporations that have been scratching each others' backs for decades. The select interconnected few, have been sucking money from the economy and from the world for many years. I have asked myself many times, what could be the benefit of such large wealth on this planet? Greed is a part of the reason, but I believe there is more purpose to collecting incredible amounts of worth, than simply lust and greed. I believe the richest people on this earth are planning to suck all the resources from this planet as fast as possible to supply an enormous stockpile before their hibernation in the caves of the earth.
Did you ever wonder why Egyptians seem to have built these incredible tombs, with living space, burying entire families at once in these amazing pyramid structures? Did it ever occur to you that these pyramids could have been the bunkers of the privileged few. A pyramid, given its functions, has the ability to withstand a direct physical blow (comet explosion, army attack), increase in temperature, decrease in temperature, a flood, tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes and massive storms of any kind. It seems very evident to me that ancient pyramids were the work of the privileged few; designed to survive the changing earth. Obviously, they did not make the correct calculations or simply did not have the materials to withstand the period of time in which the earths conditions were uninhabitable. Thus why the tombs upon discovery contained kings, queens, and royalties dead and rotten bodies.
Which brings me to the question: what would we do if we could see signs of another period of unlivable conditions on the surface of the planet? The answer is very similar to the ancient Egyptians. Those in positions of power and wealth will gain as much power, wealth, and commodities as humanly possible and create a bunker to survive the times or else fly off this planet (however I do not see much evidence supporting a spaceship odyssey off this planet).
Why are we so dependent on oil in America, when we have the most reserves on the planet? Because this oil is not for us, it is for the privileged few to use over an undisclosed period of very harsh condition on the surface. It is clear that the technology for clean energy, wind, solar, electric, magnetic- have been available for decades. People can claim that the only reason America chose to turn its back on those resources simply is greed; to make endless piles of money, and I feel this is very near sighted.
The select few, if you do not know who they are, then you are not one of them (which describes 99.9999% of us) have been ridiculed as heartless, warmongering, greedy monsters. Many people simply shrug off their actions as simply unintelligent greed and power lust. These people are extremely smart and know exactly what they are doing...in fact, I believe that they absolutely love when people call them greedy and overlook their true intentions.
Back to the reason why I think these very intelligent select few are going to burrow in hidden bunkers located around the world. Money is very important, but oil is more important, when you consider that oil is the most useful when you no longer have the ability to tap the planets' surface. Renewable energy like the sun, wind, vegetation and the ocean's kinetic movement have been good potential sources of renewable energy, however they are only available to those living have access to these to the surface of the planet. If the surface conditions change too much, many of those resources may even cease to generate energy on their own. Oil is simply ancient sunlight, which in its oil form is a very crude but versatile energy source. Which leads me to believe that the mass collection of oil on this planet, is being done in order to take it to a place where we (or they) will not have access to the face of the planet. The two places this can be is either in space, or under the surface of the planet.
Space would be an interesting option and as I mentioned above, given the lack of advancement in that field, it seems that the option of leaving the earth and living on a space station, or colonizing another planet seems very unlikely. On the other hand, there have been reports for decades speaking of secret underground shelters in America, and around the world, which leads me to believe that these dormant military structures may be a future den of the who's who of the civilized world. If you want to learn more about underground bases, simply google hidden underground bunkers, bases, and government. You will find a lot of interesting things.
The failing American economy is a side effect of the exploitation of the banks of the world by those on top. The bail out is a strategy to extend this exploitation. The simple unknowing people of every nation on this planet will pay to try to recover for what the top dogs are taking out of the system. The system was built by these people, in order for them to exploit it whenever they deem it necessary. Every single person on the top knew that this crashing of the system would occur with constant abuse, and they all knew that the oil supplies on the planet are a limited resource. The economic system was carefully and purposely abused in order to gain access to money to buy as much oil as possible, no matter what the cost to the inhabitants of the earth.
I like to use this metaphor: it is clear that if you take chunks out of wood out of a sailboat it will start to slowly sink, and eventually go under. Any slightly intelligent person can figure that out. The people leading the ship, in this case, have been telling us it is going to be okay, we can take as much wood out of the ship as possible to add to our collection; only to be putting this wood on a different ship altogether as we ride this sinking ship to the bottom of the ocean. The ship is the earth; or at least the surface of the earth.
I want to clarify, that part of my fascination with this conspiracy theory, comes from feeling like selfish decisions are being made at every crux in the last eight years. And that my assumptions regarding this potential move underground in the face of an oncoming disaster, means that I am strongly suggesting that the people who control this world have a grand knowledge about the future of this world that we are being excluded from. This very easily could be for the good of our well being. Secret chem trails, the terrible response and/or intentional bombing of the levies in New Orleans, 9/11 conspiracy, lack of education, war in iraq, lack of renewable energy innovations and many other odd actions all over the world could be for the betterment and survival of our planet. It is very hard to determine what knowledge has effected these questionable actions to occur. But I would never count out the slight possibility that drastic actions are being taken to prepare or save the human population for some extremely crazy disaster. This however, is very unlikely.
This leads me to how I suggest we, the knowledgeable/powerless/poverty stricken few, should go about reacting to such a concept. The answer is: self sustainabilty. I am working on some artworks in which I propose designs to give us our best chance to survive any possible disaster on the horizon. Our housing needs to mimic the Egyptian pyramids (I will be posting blue prints to my crude 'silo home' concept), we need to have a large stockpile, solar energy, recycling water supplies, access to gardens and underground water supplies, and we need to be smart about every invention we make. We need open source solutions to every potential problem from disease, climate change, famine, flood, and total government take over. It starts with conversation, and it starts right now.
A lot of very credible sources are indicating that a big event is on the immediate horizon, and some very important people know about it, and are making decisions to save themselves. I have never been one to jump into any conspiracy theories, although I do listen to Coast to Coast AM as often as I can. Yet, I cannot help, given the facts of the Bush administration and other world leaders that interact with this powerful group are on to something that we normal people could not comprehend (or at least that is what they think). I strongly believe that the rich & powerful super group is going to take our money and our energy (in the form of oil) and scurry into hidden structures and leave us to deal with whatever disaster is planning to hit this earth. We need to begin to gain knowledge for ourselves and begin to prepare for the worst. I would love to hear your thoughts on my ideas.

Vote for Halloween!
Halloween is another reminder that we need to VOTE.
I find it amazing how many people participate and spend gobs of money on halloween. I admit its fun to dress up, eat candy and watch scary movies....but it such a contrast to the cold grimm reality that our economy is in. We are sinking fast (and its only going to get worse). We need to buckle down and vote.
If everyone spent more time concentrating on the election and the issues, instead of their sexy or scary costume and what party to attend, maybe this country could turn itself around in a more timely manner. What am I saying? What is more American than dressing up like a bloddy zombie and getting pitch black drunk? Who cares about politics, let's focus on our holiday distractions and buy pumpkins for decorations rather than for our stockpile, just in case our food supplies are cut off.
The funny thing is, we dress like zombies, celebrities, vampire witches and attempt to be scary, when the scariest thing in the world is having George W Bush as our president, and a warmonger like John McCain salivating over the reigns. The real halloween horror is the right wing leadership that has ruined America's credibilty and is causing a global meltdown of doomday proportions.
This year, instead of knocking on doors for candy....I am knocking on doors to ask people to vote for Barrack Obama and change the world. I'm even going to dress up like an American who cares about his country.
Until nightfall I guess I'll do what Americans do, and carve a pumpkin. Except I'm carving it into peices, to cook, and eat. I am saving the seeds, because the seeds represent hope. And only we can save hope from burning in the feiry oven of hell.

Protesting the Republicans (pictures)
The Republican National Convention (RNC) came to my state, and thought that we were just going to sit back and let that happen. Nope. We were going to make signs, march, yell things and protest. So we did, and I did.
The nights before the convention I created my McBush outfit. Claws, two headed Bush McCain devil heads. The suit.

We chanted "stop using fear!" when we passed groups of police holding weapons. Most of them were behind fences, holding tear gas bazookas or batons. The cops were everywhere. I saw hundreds of them, most in full riot gear. The protest was extremely well organized and quite peaceful. The four hours I spent protesting I did not see any damage of property or violence of any kind. Apparantly the Anarchists after we went home did some damage and arrests were made. Too bad they made it out to be worse than it was on the news. Only a handful of young kids did any damage, the rest of the 20 thousand protesters did it in a very organized manner.
I convinced Kelsey to go with me on Wednesday night, to find all the protesters off at a Rage Against the Machine concert. Kelsey and myself were able to walk right up to the convention with the McBush outfit and mingle with the crowds leaving the convention. Many people seemed very positive about my costume and even a few republicans took their picture with me. It was actually a very positive experience. There was also some people who saw the McBush with the horns that prayed to themselves and some who shook their head. One drunk guy talked to me for 20 minutes about how dumb my costume was and eventually tried to invite Kelsey and myself to Rudy Juliani's after party. We declined.

In the whole experience, everyone seemed to be suprisingly pleasant about the whole ordeal from Republicans to cops and innocent bystanders on the bus. Stop McBush!

The white cat lady was a protester, who gave me an empty suit Norm Coleman flower. I also had a NOT NORM sticker on my back.

Impeaching Bush
Rep. Kucinich's speech
I am borrowing this clip from www.impeachbush.tv and was directed here from talk radio. I have called Norm Coleman to tell him to support Impeaching George Bush.
Here's how to voice your opinion
Thanks to Rep. Dennis Kucinich for presenting his articles of impeachment. I have already read pages of responses to this video by Republicans and none of them have any solid rebuttles for the arguement of impeaching George Bush.

Outside the Obama speech (video)
June 3rd (aka yesterday) Barrack Obama came to St. Paul. My girlfriend and myself went to film the crowds. We saw 50,000 people standing in line, watched a man get arrested, and protesters on everyone street corner. This is the video I made.
I wrote a blog about why I will vote for Obama which was a response to the many comments I received from my my friend is a republican blog.

Why I will vote for O Bama (follow up to "my friend is a republican")
My last blog My Friend is a Republican resulted in some very good political conversation, check it out.
This was a response that I had, when asked what I liked about my candidate:
"As for your comments about my candidates. When I sit down to think about politics, I feel like I do not have a candidate that stands for me or aligns even close with my overall views. Granted, I think O Bama is by far the best candidate, based on the integrity he has run his current campaign; his stance against the war in Iraq, his stance against torture, his willingness to have dialogue with other leaders (no matter how much you dislike or disagree with them, its best to talk and understand them). O Bama's statement about the temporary gas drop was right on the money, its a temporary political fix which does nothing in the long run, and I think if he is willing to take an unpopular stance on important issues like the war, gas rebates, health care, hated world leaders, then he has the guts and courage to be the president.
It helps that his stances do align with mine on those issues. "
My blog is not normally political, but I invite people with all views to respond and voice their two cents about these issues.

My friend is a REPUBLICAN!
I can already tell, that this will be one of my favorite blog posts in a while.
I have a very close friend, someone who I really like and get along with, but who has the exact opposite political beliefs as me. I think he is incredibly insane for being a Republican and supporting Bush, and he think I am incredibly insane for thinking Bush is the worst president in the history of the United States....which he is.
We will call my friend WAYR (why are you reuplican?). I am not going to name my friend, simply because I havn't told him I was going to write this blog, although he has posted on some of my past political blogs and is never too shy about it. WAYR and myself get along extremely well when we play softball together, when we go eat Wendy's together and talk about creating movies together, and all that other stuff normal friends do together.... but here we are on the opposite spectrums of political beliefs.
In case you did not know my views, I am so far to the left you can barely see me. I will be voting democrat this year, although I feel that green or independant parties align with my view far more often then any democrats.
WAYR and myself do not neccessarily go out of our way to argue about our beliefs or cause each other harm, but topics do arise and we are both very steadfast in our beliefs. I am sure many of our surrounding friends are annoyed by our verbal scwabbles when it comes to these topics (in fact I am positive).
Keep in mind, I really value WAYR's friendship, I think he is a really awesome guy. And yet I sit here knowing, or at least assuming that WAYR is still supporting the Republican ticket and will vote McCain in the upcoming election.....
and I think that is damn sad.
a vote for McCain is a vote for killing more innocent US and foriegn citizens in an unjust war.
I look forward to WAYR's response.
I have a very close friend, someone who I really like and get along with, but who has the exact opposite political beliefs as me. I think he is incredibly insane for being a Republican and supporting Bush, and he think I am incredibly insane for thinking Bush is the worst president in the history of the United States....which he is.

A Green outlook on America
It has been quite a rough last few years watching George Bush and his regime drag the red, white and blue flag in the mud. Spending borrowed money, killing foreign families, and raping the earth for oil. It has been a slap in the face for me, to think that I would ignore the unethetical practices the Bush administration is using to seize power in this country. I do not think it is over.
In the last year, I have been forced out of my house due to a foreclosure, I've watched as my health insurance went up 25% before I had to switch to Simply Blue to be able to afford Health Insurance period. I've seen my dad's government job and other coorperate jobs micro manage the happiness out of all of their employees. The entire infrastructure seems to be crumbling around me.
Rebate Check
Meanwhile, I am spending my extra income to invest or donate to green energy products or companies. My last post I explained how much I hate the concept of a government rebate check, and how I am going to take that money and donate it to a green energy company. I have recently decided that it may be a better option to take that money and invest it in a food stock. It may seem a little premature or an overreaction to the state of the world....but its better to be safe than sorry.
Food prices are on the rise
Food prices all over the place are going up. Soon its going to be such a difference that i am not going to be able to afford the food that I want to eat. Especially since I am trying to eat as healthy as possible, which is expensive as it is. This is why I am thinking that my check will go towards buyinga stockpile of canned foods, in case the prices continue to skyrocket beyond my budget. I suggest more people follow this advice.
I think the power in reversing the US downfall is investing in alternative energy and stockpiling food to avoid the rise in food prices. Despite the problems, I am hopeful.

This tax rebate pisses me off!

Bush's America
The recession in America has begun, the housing market is crashing and burning (which i have been highly affected by) and the solution....tax rebate checks. A 170 billion dollar economic stimulus bill, highlighted by Tax Rebate Checks has been issued for Americans. Read more about the US Tax Rebate Checks here.
An average rebate of $600 dollars per person will be issued in an attempt to reverse or at least slow down the economic recession and give us all a little more spending money. It is truly pathetic.
Why the rebates are lame
America is already billions of dollars in debt, we are cutting important programs in the schools, we are not paying veterans for their medical bills (directly caused by conditions while serving their country), a huge percentage of Americans cannot afford healthcare, and we are letting corporations unethically rape the world for profit.
This money should be going to fix the problems with America, the money should not go to pump money back into the zombie inducing system of debt and self indulgence. This is a lame excuse to attempt to mend the gigantic hole that George Bush's government has ripped in the fabric of our culture.
If you don't like it, don't accept it
I am going to find a proper charity, and when my check comes in the mail I'm going to send it off to the chosen charity. I do not want the US Governments blood money. The money that the government is no doubt sucking from the unjust war in Iraq.
I hope more Americans like myself will realize what a ridiculous cop out this rebate check is and funnel it into a correct location. A charity or donation to help rebuild the fabric of America's crumbling culture. Which is where the money should be going in the first place.
In the past I have written some blogs about Every Living Creature and posting about my desires to live forever.
Then I ask the simple question....Is Anyone else worried?

#1: 5 Ways to Quit Drinking Soda Forever

In the very beginning, health was always a big issue for me. I just recently quit drinking soda and this blog was the simplified version of what I learned. Quitting soda was a very hard but rewarding experience for me. The best part of this blog was the feedback I have received from others who are also trying to quit soda.
